Angel from Washington D.C was discovered by Gene Simmons in a night club and ended up on the Casablanca record label. Same as Kiss.
Angel’s all-white stage attire was a deliberate contrast to Kiss, who all wore black. The band had a decidedly androgynous appearance and well-crafted stage sets.
The self-titled debut was released in 1975 and was followed in turn by “Helluva Band” (1976), “On Earth as It Is in Heaven” (1977), “White Hot” (1978) and “Sinful” (1979) before the band disbanded in 1981. They never had a real breakthrough, but had and always had a large following of fans and a cult status like no other.
At the end of the 90s, the band re-formed and released the record “In The Beginning” (1999). In 2019 came another new record “Risen” which received very good reviews and in 2023 came the latest record “Once Upon a Time” which really sounds like “old” Angel. It also sounds really fresh!
Now Angel is coming to Sweden for the first time in over 20 years and with two original members. Singer Frank DiMino and guitarist Punky Meadows and this will be a completely unique gig that you don’t want to miss. Of course the band is dressed all in white!
